Do you have a loyal following at Etsy, BigCartel or craft shows but want to see your work on the shelves of your favorite boutique? It takes more than having products ready to sell to earn a retailer’s interest, trust, and money. I’ll help you get ready to approach stores and tell you how to make it easy for a store to buy from you.
During this mini-workshop, we’ll talk about preparing your business and your product line for wholesale, explore branding and pricing, learn how to research the stores you will approach and how to edit your line for maximum appeal. We’ll also look at the content of your linesheet and catalog, what makes a compelling pitch to retailers, discuss how buyers find out about new lines, and look at the lifecycle of approaching a store, following up, and taking orders. We’ll also talk about building and maintaining a good relationship with your stores.
(How does this differ from the two-day workshop? Spreading out information over two days allows time for hand-on critique of products and marketing materials. This mini-workshop is less expensive but is run lecture-style. There will still be time after the session for questions, however!)
Retail Readiness Portland is scheduled for Monday, June 11 from 6:30-9:00pm at ADX in Buckman (Southeast) .
Are you ready?
The Nitty-Gritty:
After registering for a session, I will be in touch by email with further details about attendance and any materials you should bring. In the event a session is sold out, contact me to be placed on a wait list.
Workshop fees are non-refundable. If you cannot attend a session, your seat is transferable but you are responsible for finding someone to take your place. If the session is sold out, I will work with you to find someone from the wait list so that you can receive a refund.
