Spring has sprung and it’s a great time to pick up a new skill. ADX is excited to offer a range of welding courses in our metal shop, taught by talented designer Kari Merkl. These courses are a great opportunity for the beginner or new welder to learn the basics of MIG and TIG welding while networking with fellow ADX members and creatives at large. All equipment and safety gear will be provided.

Beginning MIG Welding For Steel – Sat 6/4, 4–8pm OR Wed 6/29, 6–10pm
Beginning TIG Welding For Steel and Stainless – Sat 6/4 OR Sat 6/25, 10am-2pm
TIG Welding Intensive* – Sun 6/26, 10am-2pm

DESCRIPTIONS:
Beginning MIG Welding For Steel
This class introduces students to the basics of MIG welding. Get to know the machine and the basics of problem solving! Students will have time to practice and will have a chance to make a small project to take home.
Beginning TIG Welding For Steel and Stainless
This course instructs students in the basics of gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), also known as tungsten inert gas welding (TIG). We will go over techniques for welding common joints in all positions. The last 2 hours will be for practice, and all student will take home a small project that the instructor will set up.
TIG Welding Intensive*
This class operates in tandem with the Beginning TIG welding class. Welding is all about practice! This is a chance for students to take what they learned on Saturday to the next level. We’ll cover how to best prepare joints for welding, get in more detail about correct tungsten sizes, and go over finishing techniques. The course will also cover some fabrication techniques.
Women-Only Welding
This women-only class teaches industrious ladies the basics of MIG and TIG welding. Get to know the machines and the basics of problem solving. Students will have an opportunity to practice what they lean and make a small take-home project.
