ADX to be Featured in Pilot Episode of Re.Make
September 20, 2011
We’re thrilled to partner with Actual Industries in collaboration with their newest video project. The firm will be taking over the ADX facility this weekend to shoot the pilot episode of a new television series Re.Make. Dedicated to all things crafty and handmade, this show is part design challenge, part upcycling workshop, and totally fun.
The Kickstarter-funded show will be airing in the next few months, so look forward to a party to celebrate the release and help contribute to their efforts by donating here.
About Re.Make:
You might have heard the phrase “Keep Portland Weird.” There is a reason this town has that mantra. Portlanders tend to look at things a little differently. Where one might see junk, we see opportunity. Maybe it’s our pioneer backbone that still lingers from our trailblazing forefathers.
You may not have grown up knowing how to build your own bike, brew your own beer, or make your own clothes, but if you live in the Northwest, you’re bound to meet others who do, and will gladly show you how. This is what re•make is all about: embracing this sense of community and the artistic ability that lives in all of us.
Each episode features 6 “re•makers” from the creative community. Each crafty contestant selected for the project will bring a unique skill set to the team. This will push the participants to draw upon each others strengths in order to be successful. They will have two days to work on the project under the watchful eyes of the show’s project mentor and Host. The team will be given a $100 budget along with one main recycled item that they will use in conjunction with the project challenge.
