ABOUT ADX
ADX is an ever-evolving space. We are a shop located in the industrial heart of inner Southeast Portland. The shop is a membership-based design and prototyping facility as well as an innovation incubator. By providing tools, learning experiences, and networking opportunities, we are quickly building a culture that will redefine Portland’s creative abilities through work, collaboration and community participation.
Our membership base is a diverse cross-section of experiences, backgrounds, and skill levels. Here, high-profile designers work next to students, retirees share their knowledge with novice builders, and work-related projects come to life next to personal crafts. ADX hosts almost 500 members of varying levels including basic community participants, unlimited shop pass holders as well as business and industry members.
Since opening in June 2011, we’ve facilitated a number of amazing fabrication projects from many of Portland’s most influential designers and makers – alongside new work from emerging talent. We’ve also established a wide network of local enthusiasts eager to participate in and support our endeavors. Our team is ever expanding and always re-imagining how to meet new challenges in the constantly-growing city we share and love.
Stop by for a tour, or attend a free safety orientation to get to know the shop, people and machines.
Our safety orientations and tours are free and open to the public, so we hope to see you here soon!
